Our programs at Shining Light begin for children as young as 2 years old and last until age 5 for parents who may want to consider alternative options to Transitional Kindergarten. For our younger children diapers and pull-ups are okay until they’re trained.

We’re pleased to offer small classes with 10 to 12 children per class and a ratio of 1 to 6 per adult (including the Co-op). Our curriculum is built to equip children to succeed in Kindergarten by fostering readiness skills through Zoo Phonics and Handwriting without Tears.

A sample of the activities and highlights of our program include:

  • Monthly Chapels
  • Ice Cream Social
  • Pumpkin Patch
  • Pony Visit & Ride
  • Thankful Feasts
  • Christmas Program
  • Mom & Me Tea and Slide Show
  • Spring Carnival
  • Parent Co-op

An integral part of our program is the parent co-op, which involves serving as a classroom helper in your child’s class approximately once a month. In order to make scheduling as easy as possible, parents have the opportunity to sign-up for their Co-op Days on the first day of school. Parents also receive a Class List and have the chance to trade/change these days throughout the school year.
